Pioneering Poles
Build, balance, and climb with classic scout pioneering fun.
Service Description
Pioneer Poles is a true test of creativity, teamwork, and outdoor adventure at CRAI. Using traditional wooden poles and ropes, participants work together to build structures such as bridges, towers, and walkways before testing them out with climbing, balancing, and group challenges. This activity is rooted in scouting traditions and provides a unique opportunity to develop problem-solving, practical skills, and resilience. Groups must plan, construct, and cooperate to create safe and sturdy structures, then enjoy the reward of climbing or walking across what they’ve built. Suitable for youth groups, scouts, schools, and team-building programmes, Pioneer Poles combines hands-on learning with plenty of laughter and excitement. It’s a brilliant way to build leadership, communication, and trust, while giving participants the chance to unleash their creativity. All equipment is included, and sessions can be tailored to suit different age ranges and abilities, ensuring every group gets the most from their time on the poles. Important: No qualified instructor is needed though a capable game/team leader is advised. Please choose your activity length and correct pricing band honestly. You may be asked to provide proof of your community group. Failure to do so could result in additional charges. • CRAI – CRAI Scout Groups within the CRAI District. • Scout & Guides Groups – Scouts, Guides, and Non Profit Youth Organisations. • All Other Groups – General bookings for Schools, clubs, corporate teams, and the public.
